Fauxevermore Academy

If I was able to change careers & change my life, then so can you. Turn your passion into a sustainable business.

This is why I set up my Fauxevermore Academy .

Every week I have messages in my inbox from people asking me how did I do it?

Especially now.

The furlough scheme has shown many people that they do not want to go back to their old job.

Maybe you are feeling the same? You too could turn your passion into a successful business. One that would allow you to step off the treadmill and take a new direction.

I know I did. You can learn how I did it in my Fauxevermore Academy.

I turned my back on a legal career so I could follow my passion for floristry.  My maternity leave was coming to an end. It was time for me to go back to the office and my heart sank.

I didn’t want to go back to corporate life.

I loved my job as a solicitor. It had been a journey to get there, facing adversity along the way, but the thought of going back made me feel sick.  I didn’t want to leave my children in childcare all day. If I was lucky I might get to bath them before bed.  Don’t get me wrong, for many families it works well but it’s not what I wanted.

A year earlier I sat at my office one lunch time, and read an article which resonated with me. It was my life in print. Well not quite but the underlying feeling was the same. It was about a lawyer who gave it all up to open a Florist’s shop.  ‘I would love to do that!’ I remember the look on my Boss’s face over his screen.

But I wasn’t joking.  I used flowers as a stress relief for years, in fact since I was about 14.  I used to save my pocket money to buy dried flowers. To unwind I would create bouquets and vases of beautiful stems and gift them to my loved ones.

I turned to my husband and said ‘I’m not going back’ and that was it.

Only thing was, I had to make it work. I knew it would be challenging with 2 children under 3 but if I had to try.

It was either that or go back to the corporate grind. I gave myself a year and at least I would have said I tried, no regrets.

Fast forward 14 years and I am still loving it just as much. Over the years I have worked with so many wonderful couples and clients. I have had amazing experiences and have broken down misconceptions of faux flowers.

I am known as the faux flower expert and the founder of Fauxevermore. My work has been featured in various industry publications as well as OK! and television.

My clients have a true alternative to fresh flowers. My clients are from all over the UK and Internationally too.

I am the 1st UK florist to be accredited for faux flowers by the Institute of Professional Florists and a Theo Paphitis #SBS business winner.

But the journey wasn’t easy.

I began my business in the days before Facebook and Instagram. I had to find other ways to get my business seen.

There have been so many things I have done over the years.  I have tried lots of ways to push the business forward. I know what works and more importantly what doesn’t!

The actual flowers are just a small part. There are lots of all the things you need for a sustainable business.  So much more!

But why silk flowers?

Quite simply I didn’t want to be at the flower market at the crack of dawn.

I left my legal career was so I could be less time poor. I wanted to be in control of my own time.

And so can you.

Faux flowers gave me flexibility. It fulfilled my creative flair and satisfying my love of flowers. I was able to turn my passion into a sustainable business.

It changed my life and could change yours too
