🌟Never underestimate what you are capable of 🌟On the 27th November 2017 my phone went into meltdown as Theo retweeted me as one of his business winners. I had set out in 2017 that this year I was going to win one of these coveted places and join the SBS Family.

I applied a few times at the beginning of the year and wasn’t successful. I then got sidetracked in everything else I was doing and didn’t enter for months. As we hit 26th November I was reassessing my goals for the year and realised I wasn’t able to cross this one off the list. That day I tweeted Theo about my business. The following day I was able to put a BIG tick alongside this goal 🙌

I feel very privileged to be a part of this amazing group that is truly supportive. Theo and his team are actively involved and continue to make it a very special place for us to be💜 Almost every year since then I have attended the annual SBS event where we are treated to wonderful guest speakers such as @touker_suleyman & @saradaviescc @owenokaneten to name a few

I am really looking forward to attending the SBS event in February! I am excited to learn who the guest speakers will be🎉🎉🎉

🌿I believe in charging a fair price for what I create. I respect my expertise & my time that I dedicate to every client. When you are buying a service the cost covers a multitude of things, not just the physical items that you can hold. It covers the time taken to quote, source, design, their expertise, experience & knowledge. Not forgetting things such as advertising, marketing etc.⁠
⁠
🌿I don't charge with a buffer to allow a discount (a common approach that is often used in sales) There is 'no inflated prices to discount later' strategy here.⁠
⁠
🌿Everyone is treated the same. I want my clients to be secure in the knowledge that they are not being short changed & my prices do not vary with the day. There is nothing worse than being on a night out, a flight or a holiday, for example & finding out that the person sitting next to you paid less than you for the same thing! Transparency is key. That is why I have no problem with putting prices on my website. I am not in competition with anyone else & therefore I'm not concerned about what everyone else is charging. When I create & work with my clients, it’s a journey, one which often lasts way beyond the wedding itself. And that is truly a wonderful thing.⁠

I appreciate that my no discount policy might not be favourable to all, but that’s ok, my intention isn't to be the right fit for everyone.⁠

🌿checking times, date & clients name even though you have checked it 10 times already

🤞🏽the roads are clear, you have left plenty of time but what if

🌿it doesn’t matter how many times you have packed your van you still hold you breath when you open to door that the 100 vases that you carefully packed are still in one piece.

🌿you have spent hours changing & checking batteries, packed extra in your emergency kit ‘just in case’

🌿 you have meticulously planned everything, everyone has a task & have been debriefed, it’s like a well oiled team that’s been trained to your same high standards

🌿 allocated time starts, get everything unloaded, unpacked & created with time for photos & videos. Check & check again.

🌿 you hope to see the couple, ensuring they are happy, jump back in the van & remember that you forgot to take videos of you actually setting up…. Again 🤦🏻‍♀️ because you are so in the zone ensuring your clients get the best you forget you are also the ‘content creator’

🌿spend the rest of the day willing for it not to rain, that everyone has the best time. Nurse your sore feet, aching back & clock watch for collection. Lots of caffeine, standard.

🌿drive back, wait in the wings, stealth mode for the thumbs up that you can come in & de-rig. Boxes out, vases, candles, everything counted, repacked, back in the van. Last sweep before heading back to the unit.

🌿 the roads are empty, sometimes the sun is rising. Unload everything, close the shutter, clean up is a job for another day.

🌿 you’re super tired BUT your heart is content.

YOU SMASHED IT FOR YOUR CLIENTS 🎉

The flowers are just the part of the bigger picture. Haven’t even touched on site visits, planning, creating recipes, ordering, along with running a business, being a present wife, mother, daughter & friend.

It’s a labour of love & I wouldn’t change it for the world 💜

If you weren’t aware then it’s likely you have been looking in the wrong places.

Not all artificial flowers are the same. Faux flowers often get tarred with being called tacky & cheap looking, if you feel like that I don’t blame you. The chances are that you have been subjected to just that. Low grade artificial flowers.😳

Like most things in life there is good and bad in all. I bring my clients the best.

So what should you be looking for? ✨

🌿 Detail - the little things. Are the petal shapes realistic, is there veining on the leaves. Overly frayed leaves should be avoided as should cheap polyester.
.
🌿Does the flower hold up well? Is is well structured? Does it have that bounce back? For example if it’s squished does it retain its shape? This is really helpful especially for buttonholes. After lots of congratulatory hugs the flowers will bounce back without losing and shape or petals.
.
🌿Definition? Some flowers in nature have a natural block colour to and others are tonal. Is this reflected in the flower? As seen with the beautiful peonies, there is really attention to making the flowers look as real as possible with gradients of colour.

This is just a few of the things to look out for and I hope it helps to show the difference. ✨

Unlike real flowers & foilage, faux flowers are all the same size and shape when I open the box yet I make them look like they grew together 😉

I think about a multitude of things before they even go into any design.

The shape, form and how they would grow in real life.

It’s this attention to detail elevates your flowers & in turn my work.

I’m not your usual florist that works with faux flowers.

I bring them to life.

In fact its so important to me I became the 1st florist in the UK to be accredited by the British Florist Association for working with faux flowers.⁠
It also helps that I am ✨super picky about the flowers I use.⁠
✨have established relationships with suppliers so I can get the very best.⁠
✨ travel over the UK to find the best flowers.⁠
✨understand the grades of flowers, not all faux flowers are the same I assure you.⁠
✨advise my couples and clients on what will work and just as importantly what won't. If a particular flower is requested but the quality of faux flower is not yet at my standard then I will let you know, as it won't be able to be used. I find my couples and clients prefer this honest approach as I am not here just to sell you flowers💜⁠

On top of that⁠
✨I use skills which are used in floristry with real flowers to bring you a realistic alternative that you can enjoy forever more.⁠
✨My hire items give the look without the huge price tag. I mean in relation to real flowers. As lots of people think that faux flowers much be cheap, right? Well not good quality ones.⁠

There are lots that goes on behind the scenes, before my flowers even reach my clients. It my knowledge that brings everything together to bring you a stress free approach to tour flowers ✨⁠

Carefully planned instals means they can be moved on your day to dress other areas of your venue. Working with your florist your florist to understand how this works best.

When designing instals we need to think about different factors such as how the piece is put together, how easily it can be moved, the proportions of the design and how it can work in various locations and logistics. Is there time breaks that allow us to get in and moved it seamlessly.
