Tree Planting, my gift to you and the environment

10 Sep

For every wedding or event booked, a tree will be dedicated in your name.

How it works

I will use a partnering non profit organisation to plant a tree in a location nearby to the region you live (subject to availability). If that area is full your tree shall be planted in the nearest available place.  Each tree shall be dedicated to you as a gift from me that will last a lifetime.  The trees will only be planted in areas that are maintained so that your tree will live to maturity. You will also receive an emailed certificate with a dedicated number so that you can easily identify the woodland your tree is planted.  The trees are always planted in areas that will fit in their surroundings and won’t dominate existing flora.

But why?

I have been thinking a lot lately on how I can make a bigger impact to the environment whilst running my business.  I already make a conscious decision about the packaging I use, that they can be recycled and/or reused.

The fact that my flowers can be reused or repurposed, means that they live longer than a day or even a week.  Yes, some of the flowers contain elements of plastic but they are not single use.  My flowers are not meant to be used for the day or week and then be thrown away.  I have introduced the hire aspect to my business, which allows for you to enjoy flowers on the day of your wedding or event, without the concerns of wastage.  My flowers are not sprayed with pesticides which effects wildlife and the environment too.

I have been looking for a way to reduce the carbon footprint of my business and the flowers I use for your wedding, event or gift and this is the perfect way to do so.

Impact on the environment

According to DEFRA (Department of the Environment, Fisheries and Rural Affairs) shipping by sea has a far less carbon footprint on the environment than air freight. By using their conversion rates it is estimated that 2 tonnes of cargo carried 5000km would emit 6,605 kg CO2 by air compared to 150 kgs CO2 by container ship.  As you can see the difference is huge especially when fresh flowers are imported daily unlike faux flowers.

As a planet we do not have enough trees.  The UK itself is way behind the Governments tree planting target.  According to ‘The Guardian’ we are 71% short of the current target set. (https://www.theguardian.com/environment/2019/jun/13/tree-planting-in-england-falls-72-short-of-government-target)

Every tree planted makes a difference.

By dedicating a tree, we aim to help, maintain and improve new woodlands and provide local people with opportunities to live healthier, more sustainable lives whilst reducing our carbon footprint.

Your dedicated tree can also help to offset up to 1 tonne of carbon dioxide throughout the life of the tree. That’s good for you, your friends, wildlife and the planet.

I am so excited to bring this to you, little by little we can make a real difference. If you have any questions or would like to find out more then feel free to drop me a message.

Much love

Adeela x

Luxury Faux Flowers - Adeela
Agree or disagree? A deciding factor on whether yo Agree or disagree? A deciding factor on whether you want to work with me depends on how I look?
It's known that if you want to work with a certain clientele then you should present yourself in a manner that attracts them. The clothes you wear, your shoes, bag even the carefully placed items in the back of the photo that doesn't look curated, but it is.
I get it. It's part of a brand image. You could write a book on it, in fact many have.
In a world where social media is largely curated sometimes it's difficult to see the true picture.
But I would rather stay authentic to who I am.
I was once told that my nose piercing wasn't best suited to a court room but it didn't stop me presenting my submissions & wining my cases for my clients.
I've been mistaken as the deputy & watched the suprised faces when they realise that actually I sit as Chair of the Board & my older male counterpart was the deputy instead.
Even with faux floristry. Many people don't get it but after they spend some time with me it all becomes much clearer!
I would like to think that people choose to work with me because of my expertise, my experience and knowledge. They value my work and also believe in my core values of transparency & integrity.
And the fact that I am wearing a Wonder Woman t-shirt in this picture has no reflection on what I create!
Is it important to you to get to know the person behind the brand?
PS. I miss my hairdresser
Bringing you some bright happy flowers to make you Bringing you some bright happy flowers to make you smile 🤗 no matter what the day has in store 🤞🏼
I don't usually post in the morning but I figured we should start today with a burst of colour, an injection of hope and a dose of optimism.
Today I have contact free collections & delivery's taking place plus proposals to finalise. I've spent the last few days packing up my faux tulips and special requests for gift bouquets & home decor flower's and the messages I have received to say how happy you are with them NEVER gets old.
First task of the day is to order more postal boxes. Glad you are all loving the move over to fully recyclable packaging, included the tape and stickers! ♻️.
If you have a special request please let me know and we can have a chat.
I am looking to order in some more beautiful blooms 🌿🤩
What would you like to see?
It's not very often I am lost for words. 🌿SWIPE It's not very often I am lost for words. 🌿SWIPE to read WHY 🌿Thank you @sixpence23 it really does mean so much 💜
I am lucky to work with wonderful couples. No one can deny the difficulties of the last year for us all in a variety of ways but I am grateful that I was still able to create flowers for weddings, even on the smallest scale.
Many of my couples still had their flowers made & delivered even when their date wasn't certain. My flowers allowed the flexibility of not having to think about rescheduling yet another supplier.
Truth is my couples and clients for non wedding work are not just passing through. We often remain in contact, it's so lovely to receive kind messages in my inbox just to say hi!
We are a community.
A faux flower family.
And I am very proud of that.
It's words like these that remind me just how much I love what I do.
It's not my job, it's a passion.
And even after almost 14 years, kind words like this still floor me
Every Single Time 💜
Sometimes it's easy to forget that we can have a big impact on someone else through the actions we sometimes take for granted.
Who are you grateful for?

Paying attention to detail is important. I spend Paying attention to detail is important. I spend time studying real flowers to ensure that I source the best in faux. I put my hands up, I love real flowers, hydrangeas in particular. I actually uprooted one from my previous home & brought it with me when I moved house.

I love how the heads grow large, lots of petals nestled together to create one big bloom.

Lush.

And just like mine that grow in the ground these have shades of colours in the petals too. From tones of soft lilac through to blue make my hydrangeas special.

The quality of the leaves, the detail on the stems, the clean cut petals means that people don't even think to question that they aren't real.

That's why attention to detail is important.

I haven't even touched on the topic on how much hydrangeas like to drink. A thirsty flower which make some florists nervous about using them in wedding and events, especially on hot days.

No one wants a droopy hydrangea head.

Whether that's on your wedding day or in your vase at home.

I probably don't mention it enough but I also create custom flowers for you or as special gift. This week I shall be boxing up and sending several out. Some are bunches and others are loose flower postal boxes for you to arrange at home.

I shall be popping these into my online store this week. I have very few stems left so if you want them, drop me a message.

Not all artificial flowers are the same. Faux flow Not all artificial flowers are the same. Faux flowers often get tarred with being called tacky & cheap looking and if you feel like that I don't blame you.
The truth of the matter is that you have been subjected to just that. Low grade artificial flowers.
Like most things in life there is good and bad in all. There are also phenomenal flowers and this is what I bring my clients. Move over the low grade flowers we have no space for you here!
So what should you be looking for?
🌿 Detail - the little things. Are the petal shapes realistic, is there veining on the leaves. Overly frayed leaves should be avoided as should cheap polyester.
🌿Does the flower hold up well? Is is well structured? Does it have that bounce back? For example if it's squashed does it retain its shape?
🌿Definition? Some flowers in nature have a natural block colour to and others are tonal. Is this reflected in the flower?
This is just a few of the things to look out for and I hope it helps to show the difference.
Not all artificial flowers are the same, there is a whole host of characteristics I look for when bringing you your flowers.
If you have any questions be sure to ask.
Do you now know what to look out for?

I have been featured in a magazine today. I was ho I have been featured in a magazine today. I was hoping to show you but the day has just disappeared. So far I have had 5 zoom calls with another one to start shortly. That's on top of the various conversations via email.
But it's been a good day.
There have been lots of enquiries, I will come back to you all.
I've have consultations with couples about their upcoming weddings and have proposals to write.
I am also part of the UK Weddings Taskforce and have been working for the last few months in respect of cultural weddings. My multicultural background means that I am part of many communities. I also had a traditional English, Asian and Turkish wedding.
Along with many other businesses I am working towards to getting the support and clarity the wedding industry needs.
This together with the announcement from Government around schools returning and my role in Governance, it's been a full day.
Hopefully tomorrow I will get a copy of the magazine.
Would you like to see what it's all about?
