Although this account has been quiet for the last few months it doesn’t mean we haven’t been working on weddings & creating gift bouquets. I have just fallen out of love with social media.

The need to be consistent, pop up and share a nugget for the day, but unless it really feels authentic I know people will see that I am turning up for turning up sake, my face doesn’t lie 😂

My time for wedding, my couples & clients is carved out in my diary, happily, I love what I do but I have always been honest that my business does not define who I am.

Floristry gives me so much, happiness, joy, creativity, connection and income ( I did say honest 😃). Outside of this wonderful world I also have a family, friends, trips, a to do list, volunteering and a profession outside of flowers.

And it works. One thing I’ve learned through life is live the life you want to live. It took a little time for me to get truly brave enough to say no to things that really don’t serve me but if you take that leap, you really do feel better after.

A more balanced life = happier life.

This does not mean Fauxevermore and all I do in the floral world is less important, in fact, quite the opposite. Every wedding I create for, every client I work with is an absolute considered choice and that creates the most beautiful work and relationships too.

A wonderful venue with a great team at the helm, as a preferred supplier at The Old Parish Rooms we have created many beautiful weddings, from small intimate weddings, larger capacity weddings and twilight weddings too.

Great to see @gatherandfeastevents who had delicious canapés to taste. The most divine cakes by Sam from @crumbstocreations , with cake samples that were beyond delicious!

Also great to see @leigh_calligraphy who creates not just timeless engraved pieces that can be treasured always but the most elegant calligraphy for your day.

It was lovely to meet @francescakinermanphotography who not only had beautiful photos to showcase to couple but also got married at The Old Parish Rooms so was able to share her perspective from her recent wedding.

Also great to meet @loveandkissesevents who had the perfect Photo Booth for your guests!

I love an open evening event, not only do I get to meet fabulous couples but I get to see other suppliers. I often forget I am there in a work capacity, it’s like a social event 😂 No hard sell, just good honest advice and guidance as a wedding supplier of over 18 years.

🌿A 360 approach🌿 When designing flowers for your wedding breakfast, I think about the whole room, how everything works together. Here’s a few things I take into account 👇🏼

✨ How big are your tables? - are the round or trestle tables? How many people will each table seat?

✨ Is your food served to plate or are you having sharing dishes or a buffet.

✨Height of flowers, either go low are high enough so the view across the table isn’t obscured.

✨What else are you having on the tables? Any signage, name settings or specific items to go with your theme?

✨Ambience - candles are great for this & we have a wide variety that’s ever growing! It adds an extra dimension.

✨Statement pieces - the impact will they create & where best to invest in them

✨ Value - choosing the best designs & set up to get the most from your budget.

I then create ideas that will work for you, you just need to choose the ones you like best!

I help to guide you through the stages, to assist, share my expertise but most importantly to support you in having stress free florals and styling for your day.

At the end of my video consultations the words I hear the most are ‘thank you, that was so helpful, there are so many things we hadn’t considered but no have a much clearer picture on what we would like’ ✨🌿💜

Many congratulations to Jo & Conrad who got married at the beautiful @baddowparkhouse !🫶🏼 it was such an honour to bring your vision to life 🍋

When designing the couples flowers we discussed not just colour schemes, table sizes, concepts and best use of space but what had special meaning to the couple.

The day was full of special touches that meant something to the couple. From choosing a special flower which held great significance to Jo and bringing in touches of the Mediterranean in the lemons and olive leaf, with the sweetest little olives transporting the couple to another memorable event in their story.

I loved working with the couple, taking inspiration from our conversations for their day, ensuring that attention to detail is at the heart of what we do here at Fauxevermore.

It is always a pleasure to work at @baddowparkhouse, alongside a wonderful and professional team, where elegance and personal service is superb. I am very proud to be a preffered supplier at Baddow Park House.

A sun filled day, what a difference it makes 🌻 especially when the world has been so dark for so long. If you like me check the news often, hope the world isn’t imploding through egos, the desire for power and wealth, feel empathy and sadness for those in targeted societies whilst trying to navigate a parallel world right now, raise your hand!! 👋🏽

My feeds is filled with the joys of weddings, beautiful imagery, flowers and love contrasted with destruction, hardship, threats of wipeout and harm beyond anything we can imagine.

It is easy to live in a blinkered world but we owe ourselves and others more than that.

My posting on here has slowed, not because I am not serving my clients or creating for couples but navigating a balance of being authentic in a currently unhinged world is a challenge.

Real talk from a florist with 19 years experience that you might not want to hear👋🏽🫶🏼👇🏼

1. Price comparison is just that, comparing the final figure doesn’t compare what you actually get.

How abundant are the florals? What kind flowers are you getting? Is it just a scattering of flowers? Is the size of the florals suitable for the space?

2. Not all products are created equal.

There is a vast range, from low, mid to high quality, especially in floral work. It’s important to decide which quality level you are happy to have on your day ensuring when you look back at your photos you will still be happy with the decision you made. This is subjective and will be different for everyone.

3. Floristry is a service, it’s not just about the flowers.

When choosing your florist it’s important that you like their style. Design skills are at the heart of what you receive. Other important areas to consider are their level of experience and expertise.

Creative florals for a wedding requires planning, working to schedule and alongside other suppliers. We also need to be adaptable, sometimes things just don’t go to plan, there might be last minute changes, issues with the weather etc. a As part of the service an experienced florist will be able to deal with the unexpected without you even having to be concerned on your wedding day.

Also, a reputable business will be insured, definitely one to check.

Booking a florist for your day can feel daunting but it really doesn’t have to be. Ask the questions you need, check out their work, it helps to build trust. Transparency is important.

Making faux flowers look realistic is an art. It takes skill. Not only do you have to use the right flowers you have to know how to create with them. It is not just a case of getting some artificial flowers & putting them together. There is a process and a theory.⁠

You see, in nature flowers come in various sizes and they vary for bud to full bloom & beyond. They all have their characteristics & when creating with fresh flowers we can use these differences in our designs to our advantage.⁠

Faux flowers are a different ball game and it requires expertise to create a bouquet or display that looks realistic.⁠
⁠
I plan my work like a fresh flower florist. I create a recipe, a colour palette & have an idea of the shape, form and lines my design will have.⁠

But I add an extra layer of detail.⁠
⁠
I think about the size of the flower heads & the stages of growth & how they develop. By taking these considerations in account I apply it to my creations to elevate my designs.⁠

Not all faux flowers are the same but it is not just the faux flowers that are used that make the design special.⁠
