'I showed my mum your flowers and she thought they were real' I never get tired of hearing this 💜⁠

I study real flowers and source the best faux flowers I can find to make this happen. Although I can work with fresh flowers I choose to work with faux. I use techniques from fresh floristry and transfer the skill to what I do.⁠
⁠
Its not just of case of putting artificial flowers together, I craft flowers to achieve certain looks, its a passion and an art form.⁠
⁠
But it isn't just about what you can see. All my floral displays that are hired are made using sustainable techniques, I don't use floral foam, which is detrimental to the environment. Not only is it horrible to work with it can get into the water ways and cause problems for our eco system. Lots also end up in landfill which doesn't break down for a very long time 😞⁠
⁠
My methods means that there is no waste at the end of the night. It is definitely a skill and not widely practiced in event floristry but to me it is important.⁠

Create a floral curtain, it will look AMAZING!! The making process however, not so fun. All was going great and then I had to move it. The lines crossed and it all became entwined 😲 I had spent all that time making sure that every row had the right spacing & placement & now I was looking at a birds nest!!
I spent more time untangling the installation than actually making it 😬
Sometimes things don't go to plan so you have to adapt & come up with a solution. I really did not want the same thing to happen when I got on site.
I used a large board and attached the installation to it, carefully wrapping around each individual drop, being careful not to cross any line. I had to ensure they were secure so they didn't move and get twisted together 🤦🏻‍♀️
It worked perfectly. Once on site I detached every section and it hung beautifully.
A great backdrop which looked great against the white wall. The cake was placed in front, it was a great combination!
Sometimes you may have to adapt, change your plans a little but it's worth it.
You can get past most challenges & find a way through.

I use the principles of the colour wheel to see what would work.⁠

Neutrals do not actually appear on a colour wheel. They can be categorised as earth tones which lean more towards to warm tones.⁠
⁠
The more neutral colours give a sense of elegance and lend well to the natural boho feel, especially when you are some dried elements 🤩. I wanted to add a modern twist, with a bit of drama so opted for a bold orange to give impact.⁠
⁠
It's more of a niche colour scheme, not for the faint hearted but definitely for those who want to a statement, for sure.⁠

Little details together add up. From small vases of flowers grouped together to larger displays, the plates, cutlery, glasses.. maybe some candles too.⁠

These smaller displays were created for the dining experience @aptonhall, great for the table for 2, with larger displays for the bigger tables.⁠

I opted for a soft colour scheme, which has been popular with many couples in the past with a touch of rose gold for that extra touch.⁠

Even though this may be a smaller display is has a variety of flowers and greenery included to add interest to the eye.⁠
