The best way to keep you faux flowers looking fres

The best way to keep you faux flowers looking fresh is to give them a little clean every now and again.
You can give them a little dust, a clean make up brush works well. You can even give them a little wipe with a barely damp cloth.
Also keeping them out of direct sunlight restricts fading as it has a bleaching effect on some surfaces.
I have also used spray air, which actually works particularly well. Air in a can 😂 actually its a thing used for cleaning the dust from keyboards and hard to reach crevices but works great with faux flowers too!
A little care and attention every now and again will leave your flowers looking as fresh as a daisy! 😉

I have worked with couples with allergies who thought that they would have to go without flowers on their wedding day.⁠

Some couples went with the faux as they share my passion of being able to keep their flowers for longer than a few days. The idea of reusing, repurposing or gifting so that the flowers can be enjoyed forever and a day.✨ And all loved the idea that their bouquets could be kept as a memory holder from their day and that they got more for their buck 💜 Just pop then in a vase and you're good to go!⁠
And for those flowers they didn't want to keep, like garlands, churns, arches and more they could have the look without the price tag of high end flowers by hiring them instead.⁠

From the beginning I vowed to do things differently. To go against the tide and be an expert in my field.✨ When I started some couldn't understand why I was leaving my career in law. That was because I wanted to spend more time with my 2 young children and I knew that I still wanted to do something for myself.⁠
⁠
It was going to be a stop gap. But it didn't turn out that way 😁. Flowers and being creative has always been my outlet so it was the way forward for me. I learnt, I trained and worked. I made connections and created my niche.⁠
⁠
I unapologetically use then best flowers and foliage I can find. I get many messages asking for information as to who my suppliers are. As much as I am willing to help many businesses, which I have over the years, information which I have worked for over 12 years is something I cannot just give out like that. I'm sure you understand that is totally reasonable.⁠
⁠
Yes I am more expensive than many but I know my 'ingredients' knowledge and experience are reflected. My clients choose me because they know I will give them the best flowers as I am super fussy and always pushing boundaries. I am transparent with what is achievable, what works and what is necessary or needed.⁠

I have lots of things in the pipeline and I have made more of my diary available for some wonderful things.⁠

Anyone else cry when they watch a remotely emotion

Anyone else cry when they watch a remotely emotional film or on TV programme?
Every single time, it's become a standing joke in my house now... 'is mummy crying yet?'
I can't help it.
Last nights tears accompanied the new Disney film Soul. It's not even a sad film but it got me thinking. Without giving away any big spoilers it just made me feel reflective on the purpose of life. (That suddenly got a bit deep didn't it!) and how we often take the smallest of things for granted.
The birds singing, the rainbows, the sound of the sea, let alone the human interaction with family & friends outside your bubble. I will be glad when we no longer have to hear the words 'socially distance' ever again!
I must admit I have had enough now. Last few weeks I have struggled. We all have things going on in our lives that we don't share on the internet. Worries, concerns, stresses & difficult situations.
All of us and it's these things that can take its toll.
So if you are feeling like your shoulders are heavy then please know you are not alone. Even those who appear the strongest have difficult days too.
I miss the people I love in my life & I miss not being able to hug those I love dearly who are bereaved as they have lost family members to this virus.
But I remind myself that we have to hold on to hope. Hold on in the knowledge that better days are coming and this will all be that time that we would all rather forget.
And I miss my hairdresser 💇‍♀️ 😂
So please tell me I'm not alone, do you end up crying at DIY SOS?

Always pushing the boundaries of faux flowers by using skills to make them look as real as I can.
This is how I elevate floral designs for my clients 💜
Sometimes I sketch & other times I take time out for intentional practice. This is where where I design as my heart leads me. I take concepts of design and implement them but it a way that flows rather than a laid out plan.
The only thing I told myself is 'no greenery' 🌿
I use greenery alot. It's usually the base of many of my designs so intentional ruling it out made me approach the floral urn differently. The cherry blossom was used to create structure and the additional colours stemed from there, using tones to create a connection between them.
Without really realising it I had began to create a crescent shape, a subconscious bias maybe as I connect with that shape for a variety of reasons.
Funnily enough I just googled when the new moon was. Unbeknown to me it was the 13th, which is the same evening I made this arrangement 🌙🤯. Strange, symbolic even coincidental .... Who knows?
All I know is I was in my element, trying something different, not over thinking it and going with the flow. I'm pleased with how it came out.
